LESS STRESS. MORE massage.

Enhanced Sleep Quality

massage improves sleep

Maintaining a quality sleep routine is a vital component of health. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC): “Not getting enough sleep is linked with many chronic diseases and conditions—such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and depression.” Everyone longs for a decent night’s rest so they can recharge their battery, both physically and mentally.

Research from the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) shows that massage therapy can help improve sleep quality. Their research focused on studying the effects of massage on reducing lower back pain, depression, and hormones associated with stress and anxiety. Results show that those who received therapeutic massage experienced less pain, depression, and anxiety, as well as reporting that they had improved sleep. This was further proven by the test group showing an increase in serotonin and dopamine levels after participating in the study.
Because massage may reduce pain and lower stress and anxiety, it may also help you sleep better. When you have found relief from stress and nagging back pain you are more likely to drift off into a sound and deeply restorative sleep.
